This is the digital age. We are fast and furious.  We jet instead of propel. Why should our food be any different? Our foods are ground up, ultraprocessed, cooked, and re-cooked. Who needs oranges when we have fortified Tang. Our foods are designed to fill us up, give us that comatose feeling, and taste amazing. Alcohol, cigarettes and drugs like marijuana, caffeine, and nicotine are readily available. Unfortunately, what gives us the highest levels of satiety and pleasure also cause serious and life threatening health consequences like diabetes, cancer, dementia and paralysis. Go over the line and you will have a stroke. There is no longer any dispute that eating overcooked and overprocessed sweet and fatty foods, while chugging alcohol, smoking cigarettes, and now adding drugs (weed) will bring about an epedemic of metabolic dysfunction, the likes of which we have never seen in history.

The good news is that you have the power to reverse this. By changing our diet and making some general lifestyle changes, we can avoid much of the pain and suffering that comes from aging. There are no magic pills, surgery, or prosthetic devices that can fix things, nor is there any fountain of youth that will command our cellular systems to remain virulent longer or fix our aging genetic code. What we can say, beyond a reasonable doubt, is that you will live longer if you can bring your BMI (Body Mass Index) down as you get older, reduce the toxins you ingest, take all the micronutrients you need, and do moderate exercise like 30 minutes of walking a day.
